Miss Kempton Fair 2008

We are currently looking for young ladies (ages 17-24) to compete for Miss Kempton Fair 2008.  NO MORE TALENT needed.  We are also having LITTLE MISS KEMPTON and a JUNIOR MISS KEMPTON (ages 4-16).  If you have anyone interested please call Elizabeth Martell at 610-704-0010.

Queen Contest Rules

The purpose of the Fair Queen competition program is to encourage the promotion of agricultural fairs and to create better relations between youth and adults in both rural and urban settings.

Rules:

Each contestant must:

  1. Be at least 17 years of age and not 24 years old by June 1, 2008.
  2. Have her parent's or gaurdian's consent.
  3. Be single, never married, have had no children and must not marry or get pregnant during her reign.
  4. Not be a former local winner, nor state contestant.

At the Competition:

  1. The girls will be judged on poise, appearnace, neatness, ability to communicate (speaking ability) and knowledgeof the fair industry.
  2. A written essay will be required to be submitted on "What my Fair Means to My Community" (300 words or less).
  3. Must present a 3 to 5 minute speech on "Why you should come to my fair." (it is timed)
  4. Evening Gown/Intruduction- each contestant makes a personal introduction to audience.  Approximately 15 seconds.
  5. The winner will be eligible for the State Fair Queen Contest.  In order to compete in the state competition, the contestant must be able to attend the competition, which will be held in Hershey, PA in 2009.
  6. All contestants will receive an individual gift and the winner and the alternate will each receive scholorship awards.
